After weeks of uncertainty, John Curtis Christian High School wide receiver Malachi Dupre signed his letter of intent to attend LSU next fall.
Dupre is the nation’s No. 1 wide receiver, according to ESPN rankings.
The 5-star prospect has been busy as of late, with visits to LSU, Alabama, Florida State and UCLA in the past month.
The 6-foot-2 receiver finished his high school career with 73 receptions for 1,479 yards and 22 touchdowns.
With Dupre’s commitment, LSU’s 2014 class now has a wealth of talent at wide receiver.
Trey Quinn of Barbe High School in Lake Charles is the other high-profile wide receiver who signed with LSU.
Quinn is the No. 3 wide receiver prospect, according to ESPN rankings.
During his senior season, Quinn set the national high school record for career receiving yards. He had 6,566 yards on 357 receptions. He also had 70 receiving touchdowns.
Others signees out of Louisiana are linebacker Donnie Alexander, offensive linemen William Clapp and Garrett Brumfield, wide receiver D.J. Chark, and running back Darrel Williams.
LSU has also signed prospects out of Texas. The nation’s No. 2 safety Jamal Adams signed his letter of intent this morning. The others who signed are wide receiver Tony Upchurch, defensive end Sione Teuhema, defensive tackle Trey Lealaimatafao and place kicker Cameron Gamble.
