Junior right hander Aaron Nola and sophomore shortstop Alex Bregman were named to the 60-man Golden Spikes Award Watch List released by USA Baseball on Friday.
Both players were named semifinalists for the award last season, but University of San Diego infielder Kris Bryant took home the award, given annually to the top amateur baseball player in the country.
Nola was 12-1 last season with a 1.57 ERA, striking out 122 batters in 126 innings.
Hitting in the third spot all season, Bregman excelled in his freshman campaign, batting .369 with six home runs and 52 RBIs to go along with a .546 slugging percentage.
Former Tiger great Ben McDonald won the Golden Spikes Award in 1989 and remains the only LSU player to win the award.
