Life at the freak show is a spinning wheel.
Episode six begins with Elsa Mars bringing out the spinning wheel and practicing her old skill. The spinning wheel involves tying a person to it and throwing knives. The trick is having the knives not hit the person. She tells Ethel Darling that she will be bringing this trick with her on her TV debut. Darling is worried the freak show will lack talent with Mars leaving and Bette and Dot Tattler gone.
Mars tells Darling that the Tattler twins escaped instead of admitting she dropped them off at Dandy Mott’s house. Meanwhile, Mott tells his mother that he is in love with the Tattler twins and plans to marry them.
Mott treats the Tattler twins as princesses, giving them whatever they want. Bette is interested in Mott, thinking she may have found love. However, Dot is only interested in the fact that Mott’s money may help her get the surgery to separate from Bette. Her dream is to be one person and have Jimmy Darling want her.
During Mars birthday week, she throws a birthday party where all the freaks bring her gifts. They start discussing missing the Tattler twins and Mars gets angry the attention is off her.
Afterward, Mars is seen in bed with Paul the illustrated seal who later goes to Penny’s house and tells her he wants to be with her as a couple. Their only previous interaction was when she was trapped at the freak show and tortured by the freaks.
Paul heads into town to buy perfume for Penny and sees Mott buying two hairbrushes, along with other multiples of female products. Paul tells Mott he recognizes him from the freak show and puts together he has the Tattler twins. Mott panics and tells the store clerk that Paul stole from him, getting him kicked out of the shop.
Later, Paul tells Jimmy he thinks Mars gave the Tattler twins to Mott. Jimmy thinks he’s being ridiculous, but Paul sees Mars for who she really is— egocentric.
Esmeralda and Stanley meet to plan a freak death— deciding on drowning Ma Petite.
The episode comes to the climax when Paul and Mars have an argument over Paul cheating. He accuses her of taking the twins to Mott’s home and Mars accuses all the freaks of mistrust.
They attempt to tell her they trust her, but she will not believe until one gets on the spinning wheel. Paul volunteers, but instead of Mars doing her best to not stab him, one of her throwing knives hits him in the abdomen “by accident.” Penny comes to Paul’s aid and Mars is not amused.
Meanwhile, Esmeralda adducts Ma Petite, but doesn’t kill her. Instead, she tells Jimmy she wants to run away together.
However, before she can pack, Stanley corners her and tells her they will kill Jimmy and bring his corpse to a Philadelphia freak museum.
Jimmy arrives at Mott’s home to find the Tattler twins right after Mott finds Dot’s diary that shows how much she hates Mott. Mott tells his mother that he is not meant to love and is meant to kill. The episode ends with Mott leading Jimmy into the house, with a knife hidden.
The final scene is Mars sealing her birthday with a final wish— that she will be loved. However, Ethel warns her if the freaks find out she is the reason for the Tattlers disappearance, she will kill Mars with her own, bare hands.
