Update 1:55 p.m. – Victim that fell from the fourth floor has allegedly broken back, both legs and both ankles.
A man jumped out of a 4th floor bedroom window to get away from 3 men who, police say, were trying to rob him.
Police are investigating a home invasion/armed robbery that left two victims injured and one man arrested late Wednesday night.
The Baton Rouge Police Department reported three men with handguns forced their way into an apartment at University Edge with handguns asking for money. Hayward Howard, 27, of New Orleans, was arrested following the incident. Detectives said while fleeing the scene, the suspects attempted to rob six others at gunpoint.
Police say one victim was beaten during the robbery but also wasn’t seriously injured.
Cpl L’Jean Mckneely reports one victim suffered minor injuries from being beaten during the robbery. The second victim suffered moderate injuries, including breaking both of his ankles according to his roommate, after falling from the fourth floor bedroom window ledge in an attempt to escape the home invasion.
