Malik Nabers had quite the day at LSU’s NFL Pro Day.
It was Nabers’ first time performing in front of NFL Scouts, and his top-10 expectations were met and perhaps, exceeded.
The consensus All-American and Biletnikoff Award finalist started the day off with a 42-inch vertical jump. Only four players at this year’s NFL combine had higher vertical jumps.
“When you watch film, you see him separate himself from great players in the SEC. Today, you say a 42-inch vertical,” LSU head coach Brian Kelly said. “I don’t think there’s a better receiver in the country.”
Nabers then moved onto the broad jump, where he finished with a 10-foot, 9-inch jump.
It was then time for the 40-yard dash, where the 6-foot, 199-pound receiver ran a 4.35 official time on his first attempt, and a 4.4 official time on his second.
On the bench press, where every prospect lifts 225 pounds, he totaled 15 full reps.
After he caught passes for Jayden Daniels’ throwing session, Nabers’ Pro Day was complete. And he only strengthened his case to be the top receiver chosen in the NFL Draft, doing so in front of scouts from all 32 NFL franchises.
Nabers is projected to be a top-10 pick in the upcoming NFL Draft. Many believe the top wide receiver off the board will either be the Tigers’ leading receiver or Ohio State’s, Marvin Harrison Jr.
According to ESPN’s latest mock draft, Nabers is projected to be picked at No. 6 overall to the New York Giants with Harrison at No. 5 to the Los Angeles Chargers.

Nabers met with the Giants along with the Titans and the Patriots on Tuesday, and he attended a dinner with New York Giants staff members. Giants head coach, Brian Daboll, was in attendance at LSU’s Pro Day to watch the highly touted receiver.
After Pro Day, Nabers is set to meet with the Arizona Cardinals, who currently hold the No. 4 pick in the draft.
But regardless of where he finds himself, Nabers will continue to meet with different franchises and await the day when his name is called.
And there have been many days leading up to it that come together to make the journey of Malik Nabers.
“I’ve been humble for a long time, but when I’m out there on that football field, I play with a different chip,” Nabers said. “When I’m out there on that football field, it just shows the love I have for the game.”
