With a new semester about to begin, it’s time for a refresh.
Maybe your New Year’s resolution is to see more live music. Maybe you’re looking to spend your time somewhere that isn’t Himes Hall or Tigerland. Maybe you just want to mix things up. Whatever your reason may be, here is a list of upcoming concerts to help you out.
BATON ROUGE
Most people think that they need to make the drive to New Orleans to catch any big-name artists in concert. In reality, these artists are coming right to Baton Rouge. Ranging from rock to country, there is something for almost everyone to enjoy.
January
Hotel Burgundy, Crowe Boys and Not My Real Job | Mid City Ballroom
The band of former LSU students, Hotel Burgundy, will be performing with the folky Crowe Boys and punk Not My Real Job on Jan. 20 at Mid City Ballroom on 136 S. Acadian Thruway. Tickets are $8 in advance and $10 at the door.
Laine Hardy | Texas Club
Laine Hardy, winner of the 17th season of American Idol, will also be performing Jan. 20 at the Texas Club on 456 N. Donmoor Ave. Tickets are $25 for general admission and $200 for a reserved table.
February
Randall King | Texas Club
“You in a Honky Tonk” singer Randall King will be at the Texas Club on Feb. 9. Tickets are $20 for general admission and $180 for a private table.
Flatland Cavalry with Colby Acuff | Texas Club
One of the biggest names coming to Baton Rouge is Flatland Cavalry. Their tour will stop at the Texas Club on Feb. 22, featuring country music singer Colby Acuff. Tickets are $25 for general admission.
The Stews with Happy Landing | Chelsea’s Live
If you like folk, indie sound with an upbeat and lively twist, head over to Chelsea’s Live at 1010 Nicholson Drive on Feb. 28 to hear The Stews with Happy Landing. Tickets are $20.50.
March
Flipturn | Chelsea’s Live
Indie-rock band Flipturn will be at Chelsea’s Live performing songs off their new album “Shadowglow” on March 7. Tickets are $26.
Riley Green | Raising Cane’s River Center
The Raising Cane’s River Center on 275 S. River Road will be hosting Riley Green on March 22. Green has been one of the most predominant names in country music with hits like “There Was This Girl.” Tickets range from $25 to $85.
GONZALES
Venture just slightly out of town to catch a concert that isn’t in Baton Rouge or New Orleans.
April
Kid Rock, Jason Aldean and Hank Williams Jr. | Lamar Dixon Expo Center
The “Rock the Country” festival tour is making a stop at the Lamar Dixon Expo Center, located at 9039 S. St. Landry Ave., on April 5 and 6. Kid Rock, Jason Aldean and Hank Williams Jr. are only a few names on the stacked lineup of the festival. Tickets can be purchased here.
NEW ORLEANS
For those who are not interested in those names and are willing to make the drive, New Orleans has a heavy schedule of concerts during the next few months.
January
Drake with J. Cole | Smoothie King Center
Starting off strong, Drake’s “It’s All A Blur Tour” with J. Cole will make a stop at the Smoothie King Center on 1501 Dave Dixon Drive on Jan. 29 and 30.
February
The Eagles with Steely Dan | Smoothie King Center
Owner of every dad’s heart, the Eagles will be at the Smoothie King Center on Feb. 17. With Steely Dan as the opening act, the show will be one of the last opportunities to see the group perform as they head out on “The Long Goodbye” tour.
Stevie Nicks | Smoothie King Center
Stevie Nicks will also be performing at the Smoothie King Center soon after on Feb. 28. Nicks was supposed to perform in New Orleans in April 2023, but was forced to cancel due to illness in her band.
March
Olivia Rodrigo | Smoothie King Center
After releasing her sophomore album “GUTS” in September 2023, Olivia Rodrigo will start touring the new album in February. Rodrigo will be performing at the Smoothie King Center on March 2. Tickets are currently sold out, but that is subject to change.
Nicki Minaj | Smoothie King Center
Nicki Minaj will be at the Smoothie King Center on March 18 for her “Pink Friday 2 World Tour.”
April
Parker McCollum | Smoothie King Center
Parker McCollum will be at the Smoothie King Center on April 11 performing songs off of his newest album “Never Enough.”
Keyshia Cole, Trey Songz, Jaheim and K. Michelle | Smoothie King Center
Keyshia Cole, Trey Songz Jaheim and K. Michelle will be at the Smoothie King Center on April 12 for “The Love Hard Tour.”
Mariah the Scientist | Joy Theater
Mariah the Scientist will perform at the Joy Theater on 1200 Canal St. on April 23 and 24.
