After last week’s killings, thanks to Mark and his new following, Ryan Hardy and the FBI are back to face this week’s challenges.
The episode begins with Mark and a man in a strange warehouse, complete with an electric chair. After recreating death scenes last week, it’s anyone’s guess who Mark’s new target is.
The FBI finally has a fingerprint match from the man who threw blood on Ryan at the wedding — it’s one of Mark’s followers from the trio, Andrew. Ryan and Mike interrogate him and determine that he knew Mark beforehand. Andrew leaves the two with a eerie message threatening that innocent people will keep dying.
While the others worry about Andrew, Daisy and Kyle follow home a woman from the grocery store who Kyle pretended to hit on. As it turns out, the woman was Anna, Agent Jeffrey Clarke’s wife. They tie Anna up in her home and force her to call her husband because they are actually targeting him.
Ryan and the FBI find the warehouse where Mark was hiding and storm the place. There’s photos on the wall of Anna, which leads them to believe she’s in trouble. They rush to her home where they find Anna, who was left to suffocate inside of a plastic bag. She tells Ryan that Daisy and Kyle took Clarke somewhere.
Mark panicked after the FBI raided the garage and told Daisy it’s time for plan B, which involves a strange man named Neil, who appears to specialize in torture. Mark then sends a message to the FBI, telling them to confess how his mother, Lily, actually died, or else he’ll kill Clarke.
While searching for the possible whereabouts of Clarke, Ryan also finds out Andrew has a connection to Joe, who anyone has yet to officially see this season. The two were students together years ago in a class taught by Dr. Strauss, which is the same man who taught Joe how to kill.
Ryan tries to make a deal with Dr. Strauss regarding his jail time in an effort to find out where Clarke may be, but his plan doesn’t work.
Meanwhile, Clarke is being held hostage by Daisy, Kyle and Neil. Neil is crafting some sort of box, which is meant to held a human but only once all of their joints have been broken and they have been folded up.
Clarke escapes his ties and manages a phone call to the FBI, but Neil hears Ryan shouting and captures him once again. Luckily, Ryan had enough time to trace the call.
Clarke is now strapped to the table, and they explain to him the purpose of the box. They tell him he could save himself if he confesses the truth about Lily’s death. The FBI is eventually sent a video of Clarke confessing malpractice during a mission led by Ryan.
When the FBI arrives at the warehouse where Clarke was being held, they find the small box surrounded by a pool of blood with his badge on top. Mark was upset he wasn’t there to witness Clarke’s death.
Throughout the episode, Ryan flashed back to different conversations with Clarke concerning the stress of the case and especially the secret keeping. The episode ends with Ryan having one last flashback in the shower, which leaves him in tears.
