This week’s episode opens with David waking up in Mary Jane’s bed. He’s awoken by MJ vacuuming loudly and obnoxiously. David goes to MJ and gets her to stop, and she says what they did was a mistake.
MJ tells David if she’s not pregnant she doesn’t want to be with him, but if she is they’ll figure things out. Naturally, David is flabbergasted, but MJ claims she’s serious, as this is the “promise she’s made to God.”
After David leaves, MJ starts tidying up her house, and pouring out all her liquor. After cleaning, she takes a pregnancy test. While she waits for the results, she pours a glass of one of her last liquor bottles and simply smells it.
At work, MJ is talking about divorce rates and relationships on her show. She’s interviewing a doctor about relationships, who talks of some psychological mumbo jumbo called the “Johari Window.”
Meanwhile, David starts talking about his relationship with MJ to their mutual friend, Val’s husband, who rightfully chews him out for he and MJ’s dysfunctional ridiculousness.
MJ comes to Niecy trying to apologize to her, yet somehow still manage to call her fat. Niecy says she doesn’t need MJ’s apology because she no longer cares what she thinks.
The next day at MJ’s job, she and Kara get into it once again. Kara tells MJ she’s tired of her going rogue on air. MJ said if she’s going to go down, she’s going to go down on her own terms, and do what she wants with her show. MJ says she wants her segment to deal with issues that matter to her, specifically black issues. Kara says she’ll consider talking about it with the higher-ups.
MJ goes home and it turns out she’s made a list of all the people she’s screwed up with. She decides to go through the list person by person, righting her wrongs.
During a meeting with the higher-ups at MJ’s show, Kara and another producer talk to MJ about her segment. The producer is skeptical of making her segment black-focused, but MJ plays hardball and fights for her people, saying the segments she’s done before with a black focus worked out well, and Kara backs her up.
MJ’s little brother Paul stops by David’s house to talk business. The two laugh and joke, but MJ still doesn’t know about this business venture, and when she finds out, the smiles are sure to stop.
Val stops by MJ’s house to talk to her about why trying to get pregnant by a man who’s already having a baby is probably not a good idea. MJ assures her she’s not pregnant though, and says she’s all right. During their conversation, MJ tells David she’s not pregnant via text messages and Val calls her out about it, saying that’s a foul thing to do. MJ says she has a lot of anger towards David and doing things like that is the only way she can handle it.
Back at David’s place, he informs Paul he can’t go on with the business venture because he and MJ are over for good this time. Paul can’t believe David wants to back out of the deal because MJ hurt his feelings, and yells at him for being weak. Eventually David gets annoyed and kicks Paul out.
At MJ’s house, she takes her weave out and calls her hairdresser, who says she won’t be able to do her hair. MJ freaks out and calls Niecy to come help her, despite them being mad at each other. Niecy comes over and does her hair while the two have a heart to heart. MJ then offers her 19-year-old niece a glass of wine. Niecy rejects it, saying she’s 19 and it’s a bad idea. MJ responds saying it’s cool because Niecy has two kids with two different men, so she’s grown enough for a glass of wine.
David calls and leaves a melodramatic voicemail, and the episode ends with MJ dancing crazily in her house while Nicki Minaj’s “Pills N Potions” plays in the background.
