An earlier report from NFL Insider Jay Glazer suggested the agent of Collins was attempting to pull the former Tiger from the NFL Draft so he could clear his name and answer police’s questions regarding the murder
If they were successful in removing Collins from the Draft, he could enter the supplemental draft in the summer or be signed as an undrafted free agent, according to Glazer. The NFL has the final say if Collins can be pulled from the Draft, according to Glazer.
Baton Rouge Police Department spokesman Cpl. Don Coppola told The Daily Reveille on Monday the department would like to question the former Tiger left tackle in the murder 29-year-old Brittany Mills, who was killed on April 24 in Baton Rouge.
Coppola stressed that Collins is not considered a suspect in the slaying, but the department is looking to learn more about the victim. Coppola said Collins had a relationship with the victim.
