LSU Softball pitcher Sydney Berzon has entered the NCAA Transfer Portal.
The two-time All-American had an 18-8 win-loss record last season with the Tigers, with a 2.46 ERA. Berzon owns a career 2.02 ERA with 52 wins in her LSU career.
Berzon was the first All-American freshman pitcher at LSU since 2015 during her freshman year in 2023.
Berzon pitched twice in LSU’s regional, where the Tigers crashed out at home for their 5th loss in Regionals under Head Coach Beth Torina. Berzon pitched a complete game shutout in a 3-0 win vs. UConn in game two of the Regional, and also gave up two runs against Southeastern in game three of the Regional, including the run to win the game for the Lady Lions and eliminate LSU.
After their elimination, Head Coach Beth Torina spoke on Berzon’s health, saying that she had not been 100% in “quite a while,” and was giving the Tigers “everything she had.”
The rising senior tallied 416 strikeouts in over 480 innings of work, and several teams will have interest in the now former Tigers’ ace.
Berzon’s transfer now adds more pressure to rising sophomore Jayden Heavener, who will look to step into that ace role for the Tigers in 2026, as they look to redeem themselves after the sour end to their season in 2025.
