This episode was surprisingly devoid of an action-packed mission. Instead, the crew bonded in a way they never have before.
Everyone arrives to work at 7 a.m. after receiving Malory’s email about an important meeting.
While they all pile into the elevator disguised as a laundromat, they all argue over what the meeting could be about.
It’s a short-lived ride as the elevator gets stuck and the gang becomes trapped. They pried the door open, which gave them some view into the floor of their office, but not enough room for anyone to escape
Pam and Cheryl begin screaming for help and Archer lets them know no one will hear them until the “other people” that work in the office begin arriving.
Lana informs him that they’re the only people who currently work for the office, to which Archer is confused and she has to remind him why this is.
“Remember when the office shut down and we spent the whole year as coke dealers?” Lana said.
Desperate to find a way out, they discover an elevator phone but unfortunately it’s dead.
“Come on cyborg, R2-D2 it,” Archer tells Ray.
Meanwhile Cheryl looks into the small opening and discovers Milton, the office’s robot toast dispenser, and tells him to go find help.
To add to the chaos, the second they begin discussing rationing food, Pam starts shoveling her sandwich as fast as she can.
Archer then declares himself in charge of the rations and demands to use Cyril’s sweater vest as the tablecloth, because that’s the only thing it’s useful for.
Lana tells everyone to hold on to their food and drinks since they haven’t been stuck for very long — Pam immediately begins chugging her 40 oz beer and then lets everyone know she has to go to the bathroom.
Cheryl begins telling everyone her idea, which is to have everyone jump up and down to move the elevator and allow it to fall to the basement and then bounce back up.
While the group is discussing the authenticity of Cheryl’s proposal, Milton comes back with a large serving of toast instead of hope, but everyone is still happy since they’re hungry.
That is, until Pam can no longer hold her bladder and attempts to pee back into her bottle, missing and getting it everywhere in the elevator.
To pull a classic Pam, she tries to doctor the situation by taking off her skirt to mop up the mess but isn’t wearing any underwear.
In the midst of all of this, Ray has been lying on the floor with his head and one arm outside of the elevator trying to get a cellphone signal and manages to get half a bar.
He calls 911 and tells the operator that they’re stuck in the elevator, to which the sassy operator refers to him as ma’am and lets him know being stuck in an elevator is not an emergency.
Ray calls back to stress the issue, but she lets him know she’s blocking the number.
Lana tells him to call Malory so that she can get an elevator repairman to come rescue them.
As Ray calls her, the supposedly dead elevator phone rings and when they pick it up, there’s a recording of Archer being sarcastic and asking if everyone is tired of being stuck on the elevator.
It is at this point that everyone officially breaks their sanity and all start attacking Archer.
When Malory finally does show up to work and opens the elevator, she finds the crew half-naked and deranged. She tells them the reason she had them come in so early was so they could have a team building exercise.
At first, everyone is livid because they think Malory intentionally had the elevator get stuck, but it turns out she wanted them to watch the movie “Vision Quest” together.
