The episode opens with Laurel and Wes arguing about what Rudy said. Wes wants to ask Rebecca if she really killed Lila. Laurel disagrees, saying Rebecca will freak out and possibly ruin everything for the gang because she’s the only one who didn’t help move the body.
Wes then returns home to Rebecca. He goes on acting like nothing happened, and he and Rebecca get it on, though she remains suspicious of him.
The show goes back in time to five months earlier when Rudy lived in Wes’ current room. Rudy hears Lila and Rebecca arguing over her not wanting to deal drugs anymore. She tells Rebecca she’s getting back with Griffin. She tells Rebecca everything bad in her life happened because of her. Rebecca kicks her out. She then sees Rudy at the door watching and yells at him.
Fast forward to Oliver and Connor getting a little intimate. Oliver stops and says they both need to get tested for HIV. Connor reluctantly agrees.
Falsely accused hot cop sidepiece Nate is in court being defended by his lawyer. His lawyer assures him he’ll get him out of jail, but Nate doesn’t seem too convinced. He walks out of the courtroom and sees Annalise. He gives her the coldest of shoulders, not looking her way once.
Annalise gets to work on her client this week, Father Crawford, a murdering priest. Annalise tries to coach him into giving a performance, and seeming remorseful to get the judge and jury on his side. Father Crawford decides to change his plea from guilty to not guilty, when a mysterious woman, named Agnes, walks into the courtroom.
Flashback to the night Lila died, and Rebecca is at the frat party doing PCP, when Griffin approaches her. He asks her if Lila knows she’s there and she says no. They start flirting and Rebecca asks him to give her a “tour.” She goes to Griffin’s room with him, and they start having sex.
Annalise and the gang get to work on defending Father Crawford against the murder of his fellow priest Father Bernard. They go around talking to witnesses and others connected with the case. The Keating five find out a student who spent a lot of time with Father Crawford killed himself recently. It turns out the student was being abused by Father Bernard, hence why Father Crawford killed him.
Back to the night Lila died, Griffin and Rebecca are together in his room, when Lila walks in. She freaks out and scratches Griffin up as he holds her back from trying to get to Rebecca, explaining why his DNA was under her dead body’s fingertips.
In the present, Rebecca calls Wes and tells him she’ll be late because she has to work, and then heads into the campus police station.
Annalise calls Frank into her office and asks him to tell his connection at the jail to beat up poor falsely accused hot cop sidepiece, in the hope he’ll be let out of jail. This backfires and hot cop ends up in solitary confinement.
Back in court, Annalise gets Agnes to testify to Father Crawford’s innocence. Agnes lies and tells the court she and Father Crawford had sex. He disapproves of this and decides to plead guilty once again.
Outside of the courtroom, Connor reveals he tested HIV negative. He and Michaela overhear Wes and Laurel arguing about Rebecca and demand to know what’s going on. Wes tells them everything and they are not pleased.
Nate gets released on bail after Annalise pulls another trick to get rid of the judge on his case. She tells him to call the number she gave him to have a chance at not being convicted.
Later, Rebecca goes back to her apartment, where the kid lawyer gang is waiting for her, except for Asher of course. Michaela tells her they need to talk.
They all interrogate her and she stays strong. Michaela tells Rebecca she’ll destroy her if she doesn’t tell the truth. Rebecca says she found the campus cop who saw the gang’s car in the driveway of the Keating house. She tells the gang she’ll call him if they don’t back off.
Annalise stops by the apartment and asks the kids what’s going on. They let her in and show her Rebecca all duct taped up in the bathroom.
After unsuccessfully trying to get Rebecca not to scream for help, Annalise decides to have a mock murder trial for Rebecca. She gets the gang to find all kinds of evidence and continuity errors in Rebecca’s defense.
The prosecutor assigned to Nate’s case interrupts, to get Annalise’s statement. She lies and says Nate followed her home one night and got into a fight with Sam.
At Annalise’s house, Connor continues to interrogate Rebecca. She says a bunch of shady things as usual. As the gang discuss their situation, Asher knocks on the door. Frank tells him the office is closed, and he questions why Connor’s car is in the driveway if that’s the case. He then busts into the house looking for the gang. By this time though, they’re in the basement, and Annalise and Bonnie come in asking Asher what he wanted.
He leaves feeling like a fool, but Bonnie comforts him. He tells her he just came by to make sure Frank didn’t tell Annalise about their relationship.
Down in the basement, Frank ties Rebecca to a chair while the kids further question Rebecca She asks them if they plan on leaving her in the basement forever, or if they’re going to kill her. Frank gets tired of the back-and-forth and tells the kids to go upstairs.
Another flashback shows Sam coming to see Lila on the roof. Sam came because Lila threatened to tell Annalise about their affair and the baby. Sam lies to Lila and tells her he doesn’t love Annalise anymore, and he’s going to leave her.
In the present, Laurel asks Frank if he will “take care” of Rebecca. He gets offended at Laurel thinking he’s a hitman and storms off.
Michaela goes to meet with Aiden’s mother, who is surprisingly begging for her and Aiden to get back together. Michaela tells bluntly tells her that her son is confused about his sexuality and she’s not interested. She’s also not interested in giving her Aiden’s engagement ring back, not that she could seeing as she lost it while helping to burn her boss’ husband’s body and is now sporting a fake replacement ring. Aiden’s mom doesn’t want the ring back however, so she’s safe.
Annalise tries one last time with Rebecca. She begs her to tell her the truth of the night Lila died. Rebecca continues to play the game and says she did it. Then she says maybe Sam did it, or who knows who else could have.
Wes goes down to talk to her after Annalise forces him to. She finally tells him the truth about Rudy. The night Lila died, she had given Rudy hard drugs which caused him to have a nervous breakdown, and she was wet because she hid in the water tank so she wouldn’t be seen by the sorority girls she heard coming.
Wes defends Rebecca to the gang and they all jump down his throat.
Hot cop sidepiece finds out about Annalise’s statement and he calls her. They meet and she tries to convince him to trust her, even though she basically set him up to go down for murder. He doesn’t have much of a choice though, and he doesn’t argue.
At the Keating house, the gang is hatching a plan. Annalise tells them she’s just going to ask Rebecca nicely to not go to the police. She goes down to the basement to find Rebecca gone. She goes to Wes, thinking he let her go, but he tells her he didn’t and she believes him.
He then breaks down, thinking they were wrong all along and Rebecca may be a killer. Annalise holds him and tells him they’re just going to have to believe Sam killed Lila, otherwise they’ll go insane.
Michaela and Laurel go to a club. As Michaela attempts to drink her problems away, Laurel gives her the lost engagement ring. She tells her she found it in Connor’s car the night they burned Sam’s body and she kept it from her because she was scared she’d go to the police unless she had something incriminating her.
Meanwhile, Connor goes to Oliver’s apartment and finds him devastated. Oliver informs him he tested positive for HIV.
In the ultimate flashback to the night Lila died, Rebecca goes up to the roof and finds Lila dead in the water tank. Then, the show rewinds to a little while before that, when Sam and Lila were on the roof talking. He tells her he has to tell Annalise he’s leaving her. He then calls someone and tells them to “do that thing we talked about,” because whoever he was talking to owed him.
Jump back to the roof where Lila is being choked to death. The camera slowly pans up the body of the person choking her, and shockingly it’s Frank. After killing her, he tosses her into the water tank.
Back in the present, after comforting Wes, Annalise goes down to the basement where Frank is and asks if it was him. He denies it was him, and says he thought it was her. She says of course it wasn’t her, and he looks in front of him and asks what they should do now. Then, the camera pans down to a dead Rebecca in front of them.
