LSU’s Sigma Chi fraternity chapter is on interim suspension, LSU Media Relations confirmed Wednesday night. The chapter was served the letter of suspension on Nov. 3.
“LSU placed them on interim suspension pending an advocacy and accountability investigation and [organization] accountability process,” said LSU Media Relations Director Ernie Ballard.
Both LSU’s and the chapter’s investigation and accountability process will unfold concurrently, Ballard confirmed.
Ballard said he could not reveal the grounds for the suspension, as the investigation is pending. He said LSU is not discussing requiring chapter members to leave their campus house at this time.
LSU’s Sigma Chi chapter president Clayton Furr could not be reached for comment on the suspension.
