LSU student Mason Silvestri was arrested Tuesday on three charges of dating violence toward another student, including simple robbery, false imprisonment and second degree battery, according to an affidavit of probable cause from the East Baton Rouge Parish Sheriff’s Office.
Silvestri held the student against her will in his dorm room Thursday, Oct. 15, according to the affidavit. After attempting to push him out of the way and yelling “let me leave,” Silvestri kept pushing back, keeping her in the room.
After she began kicking at Silvestri, he grabbed her leg and caused her to fall. She received a wound on the back of her head which bled profusely and required three staples to close.
At around 3 p.m. on Monday, Oct. 26, Silvestri was waiting outside of the victim’s class and followed her back to her car, where she pulled out her phone and tried to call her father. Silvestri then took her phone and ran back to his dorm room. She got the phone back from Silvestri about 20 minutes later.
Silvestri, in the presence of his attorney, admitted Tuesday to the acts of which he was accused. He was arrested earlier this year in St. Tammany Parish for stalking the same victim.
