Hunter was tied for third on the team with 73 tackles, and led the Tigers with 13 tackles for loss in 2014.
Speculation ran rampant earlier this week regarding Hunter’s intentions after a WBRZ report claimed Hunter said he was leaving in a text message. LSU Sports Information Director Michael Bonnette dispelled the report on Twitter, claiming Hunter had not made a decision.
But on Thursday, Hunter posted a note to his Twitter account, becoming the third Tiger to declare his intentions on social media.
ESPN draft analyst Todd McShay said in a conference call on Tuesday that Hunter should stay in school.
“He’s a player with a lot of talent but I also think he’s not ready,” McShay said on the call, according to Nola.com. “He’s freakish. Great in the weight room and I see flashes of it. But I never thought this year he developed. Even though he’s productive I think he can get better and put himself in a position for when he does enter the league.”
