West Weeks met with the media Thursday after LSU Spring Practice to discuss his recovery, the defense’s transition this offseason and Open Practice on Saturday.
Weeks is recovering from a lower body injury last season. His brother Whit suffering a ankle fracture during the bowl game, Weeks was very vocal about him and his brother recovering at the same time. He says now he is back and better than before.
“I feel the best I’ve felt in a year and a half,” Weeks said. “I’ve put a lot of work in this off season to get my body to where I wanted it to be, doing extra stuff in the training room and it’s paying off.”
The linebacker room continues to grow as the team grabs more people out of the transfer portal. But, Weeks says this weekend is the perfect opportunity for them to get a little as many reps as possible.
“It’s a great opportunity for all those guys to get as many reps for them to grow during the spring.” Weeks said. “Then guys like me who have been in it, It’s a good opportunity for us to lead those guys.”
LSU Football will host their Open Spring Practice, Saturday April 12th at 10:30 in Tiger Stadium. Gates open at 9:30.
