The LSU Graduate School of Library and Information Science has been ranked nationally by the U.S. News and World Report as 22 of 50.
The rankings are based on a five-point system and was graded by the dean of the school, the program director and a senior faculty member.
The University only offers only a master’s degree in Library and Information Science. The main goal is equipping future librarians with the knowledge needed to move libraries forward in their technology.
Library Science and Information courses at the University have been around since 1926, when they were first offered in the summer. In 1921 the Board of Supervisors created the official graduate school.
Since implementation the School of Library and Information Science has graduated more than three-thousand students.
