The LSU Graduate School of Engineering, Education and the Flores MBA program ranked higher nationally for the upcoming year.
The U.S. News and World Report annually ranks graduate programs in law, education, business, engineering and medicine. The rankings are based on surveys of the program and information about student, faculty and research.
The LSU College of Education graduate program jumped 16 spots, going from 116 to 100.
Associate Dean of the College of Education Patricia Exner said their college increased research expenditures and attention. Also, the college of education has staff devoted to helping faculty get grants for research.
The Flores MBA Program increased from 89 to 81 among all institutions.
Director of the Flores MBA Program Ed Watson said he thinks the Flores program ranking increased because faculty has put more emphasis on student job placement after graduation.
The LSU College of Engineering graduate program rose two sports from 95 to 93 out of 193 schools.
Exner said it is always great when others recognize strong programs. She described the experience as a pat on the back.
