Infamous American outlaw Jesse James was killed April 3, 1882, at the hand of Robert Ford.
James was famous for committing murders and robberies. He and his brother Frank served as Confederate guerillas during the Civil War. James became a legendary figure of the Wild West after his death.
James’ trusted friend Robert Ford was secretly negotiating with Missouri Gov. Thomas Crittenden to capture James.
The Ford brothers openly acknowledged killing James and were pardoned by Crittenden.
