As finals approach, so does the last Tech With Taylor for the semester. I know you’re all upset, but we must press on.
1. Wii U ‘sold out’
Nintendo’s next-generation console moved 400,000 units over its first week on the market according to Nintendo of America president Reggie Fils-Aime, and is “essentially sold out of retail.” He went on to tell CNet that 700,000 Nintendo consoles (Wii, Wii U, 3DS) were sold over the weekend.
For comparison, the Wii sold 475,000 units during its first eight days on the market.
Not bad, sales wise. Perhaps not as record-breaking as Nintendo hoped, but definitely nothing to scoff at.
2. NASA’s announcing…something.
NASA’s been teasing a big announcement from its Mars Curiosity Rover for a few days now.
John Grotzinger, principal investigator for Curiosity, told NPR, “this data is gonna be one for the history books.”
The announcement has something to do with Curiosity’s SAM instrument, which analyzes dirt and air from Mars.
But NASA has now said the discovery isn’t ground-breaking, just very interesting.
I was hoping for life-on-mars type discovery, but alas, we’ll have to wait until next week.
