Professors from the University donated nearly $8,000 to President Barack Obama and only $2,000 to his competitor Mitt Romney in the upcoming presidential election.
Thirty-three professors and employees donated a total of $9,554 to the two presidential candidates.
The average donation was $308, and the largest donation came from English professor Benjamin Kahan, who contributed $1,508 to Obama’s campaign.
On the Republican side, Frank Opelka, chief executive of the LSU Healthcare Network, donated $985.
