Now that most major companies have announced their holiday products, what do we consumers have to look forward to?
1. iPad Mini production starts, says WSJ
According to the Wall Street Journal, production has started on Apple’s Kindle-Fire-thwarting, Nexus-7-defeating(?) mini-tablet.
Here’s the WSJ article, though you have to pay to view more than the first paragraph (awesome, right?)
The device is rumored to have a 7.85-inch display, though it remains to be seen if it will be “Retina” quality.
Being an Apple product, it’ll likely surpass the $199 mark set by the Kindle Fire late last year. At most, I’d say the tablet will be $299 for 16 GB of storage.
If that seems high, it is. Apple has a notorious habit of charging more than its competitors because it’s Apple, and when you sell five million iPhones in three days, you can do that.
The tablet is also still supposed to go on sale in October, which means we should get hundreds of leaked photos any time now.
That’s all for this week, make sure to check back every Tuesday and Thursday for the latest and greatest in tech.
