Thanks to a bout of the stomach flu that has destroyed my body (I lost eight pounds in two days) and infected most of my close friends, Tech With Taylor didn’t happen last week.
Thankfully, not too much happened between the last post and this one.
Here’s the quick breakdown:
1. B&N Announces Nook HD, HD+
It’s basically Barnes and Noble’s answer to the Kindle Fire and the Kindle Fire HD. The 8 GB, 7-inch Nook HD is $199, while $269 buys a 16 GB, 9-inch Nook HD+.
This puts B&N squarely in the affordable tablet race, which is good. Like I’ve said before, I’m a Nook user, so more options for support is good in my book.
The devices will be available later this month.
2. Ping closes, no one cares
Remember Ping? Apple’s iTunes-based music-sharing social network?
Didn’t think so.
Anyway, the service is no longer accepting new members as of yesterday. I’ll wait while you grab the tissues.
And that’s everything important that happened, other than everyone complaining about the iPhone 5. Sure, the cameras are kind of messed up (the sapphire lens cover is allegedly making light sources very purple in pictures. Apple naturally says ‘you’re doing it wrong.’, but it’s getting stellar reviews otherwise.
