An apartment at Burbank Commons was raided this past Wednesday by police officers from the Baton Rouge Police Department and the East Baton Rouge Parish Sheriff’s Office. Sgt. Don Kelly, BRPD spokesperson, said if there is no public record of the raid, the department is still continuing its investigation. The East Baton Rouge Clerk of Court for Criminal Records Office still does not have the search warrant on file. Records are filed when the department wants to, according to the office. Sheriff’s Office officials said they could not give The Daily Reveille information regarding the police raid because BRPD is the department that executed the search warrant. An anonymous tip led the police officers to execute a search warrant on the apartment’s residents. Witnesses of the raid said they saw uniformed and plainclothes officers with guns storm an apartment at Burbank Commons. Witnesses said they think the raid was because of a suspicion of growing and selling marijuana. No one was arrested during the raid.
