The LSU women’s track and field team was honored Wednesday at the White House by President George Bush for its national championship in June.The team took a tour of the White House at 11:30 a.m., then was escorted to the South Lawn of the White House, where President Bush publicly congratulated the team.Sprinter Kelly Baptiste and middle distance runner LaTavia Thomas presented President Bush with an inscribed wooden box that contained a leather LSU jacket.It was the team’s first trip to the White House since 2002.
