Many University students stay up all night studying, eating junk food and drinking energy drinks. But the best thing for students to do is eat a balanced meal and sleep for seven hours before a test.Judy Myhand, professor of human nutrition and food, recommends students eat fresh fruits and vegetables and whole grains. A balance of carbohydrates, proteins and fats are the best energy source for students rather than energy drinks.Myhand recommends eating until you are two-thirds full to avoid being lethargic.Three things University students should do is supply the brain with energy, avoid being overly caffeinated and getting a sufficient amount of rest.Research recommends up to three, five ounce cups of coffee which equals about a mug of coffee or a tall coffee.—-Contact Mary Gonzalez at [email protected]
