One of the biggest miscarriages of justice in recent memory occurred last week.Professional football Hall of Famer and Heisman Trophy winner O.J. Simpson was convicted on 12 counts stemming from some questionable allegations surrounding a “robbery” that happened in Sin City last year. And here I thought what happened in Vegas stayed in Vegas.I guess that only applies to people gambling their life savings away, not a 61-year-old man trying to get his hands on his stuff.Because aside from all the legal mumbo jumbo, that’s what this situation really boils down to — a simple man leading a simple life who just wanted his stuff back. Those frauds in Vegas eventually charged Simpson on 12 counts, including some kidnapping nonsense and conspiracy to commit a crime. And as a man who owns a lot of stuff, I’m 100 percent behind Simpson on this one.If some dudes had stolen my stuff and I knew where they were, I’d run all up in their crib with some of my boys to get it back.Who knew a simple act of getting your stolen property back could land you 15 years to life?If you wouldn’t run up in someone’s place of residence for your stuff, then that’s on you. But any rational person with an affinity for doing hoodrat stuff with your friends like Orenthal and I definitely would, without hesitation. In finding Simpson guilty on these ridiculous charges, the jury simply tried to make amends for O.J.’s double-murder trial. In that hotly debated trial, Simpson was charged with two counts of murder in the deaths of Nicole Brown — Simpson’s ex-wife — and her friend, Ronald Goldman.Sure there was Brown’s blood on O.J.’s sock and in his white Ford Bronco, and who could forget that bloody Isotoner with everyone’s DNA all over it? Surely not Kanye West. But because of some crafty shucking and jiving by his legal team and possible racism by the Los Angeles Police Department, the Juice was set loose after an acquittal on the charges — much to the dismay of rational people everywhere. That verdict should have had no bearing on this year’s case, yet nine of the jurors said they thought he was guilty in 1995 or were unsure of accuracy of the verdict. The justice system has obviously failed O.J. this time because they didn’t select jurors without perceived biases against the defendant.Hell, these jurors said they didn’t even go on eyewitness testimony of the alleged events in Vegas. That surely does not seem legit.Out of all the possible jurors in Clark County, Nevada, they couldn’t find 12 people who thought justice had been served 13 years ago?Now with this new conviction, Simpson is seemingly paying penance for crimes it’s already been proven — in the eyes of the law — he didn’t commit. Who will help us find the real killers now while the Juice goes sour in a federal pen for some trumped up BS?—-Contact Johanathan Brooks at [email protected]
