BATON ROUGE, La. (AP) — Vice President Dick Cheney is headed to Louisiana to help raise money for two Republican candidates for Congress.
Cheney is set to arrive Monday morning for a fundraiser in Kenner for Congressman Steve Scalise of Jefferson. Scalise faces Democratic challenger Jim Harlan in the 1st Congressional District election next month.
Cheney then heads to a Baton Rouge gathering for state Senator Bill Cassidy, who is running against Democratic Congressman Don Cazayoux of New Roads. Cassidy, Cazayoux and independent Michael Jackson square off in the election for the 6th Congressional District.
