Late game heroics secured the first LSU win in Auburn’s Jordan-Hare Stadium since 1998.
No. 6 LSU rallied from a one-point deficit to take a 26-21 lead with 1:03 remaining on an 18-yard touchdown pass from redshirt freshman Jarrett Lee to junior wide reciever Brandon LaFell.
Sophomore quarterback Andrew Hatch started the game, but Lee entered the game and struggled significantly in the second quarter.
LSU entered the second half trailing, 14-3, after Auburn defensive end Gabe McKenzie picked off Lee and returned it for a 24-yard touchdown.
Hatch started the second half but left the game in the third quarter because of an injury.
Lee then led the Tigers to 17 unanswered points, including a halfback pass from junior running back Keiland Williams to senior wide reciever Demetrius Byrd for a 22-yard touchdown.
Junior running back Charles Scott turned in a 132-yard rushing performance, making him the first LSU running back to break the 100-yard mark at Auburn.
