MAN ARRESTED FOR ILLEGALLY CARRYING HANDGUNA man unaffiliated with the University was arrested for carrying a .41 magnum caliber revolver on campus.Aramis R. Jackson, 18, 1938 Arizona St., was arrested and charged with illegally carrying a handgun and violating a firearm-free zone.Rogé said Jackson was riding his bicycle near Aster and Alaska streets and stopped next to a vehicle on the corner.Police officers were following Jackson down Aster when he jumped off of his bicycle, dropped an object and ran away.Officers discovered the item to be a .41 magnum caliber revolver and arrested Jackson.He was booked into East Baton Rouge Parish Prison.LSU EMPLOYEE ARRESTED FOR THEFTA Campus Federal Credit Union employee was arrested after a month-long investigation for debit card theft.Danielle R. Morgan, 32, 2377 Point South Drive, Zachary, was arrested and charged with “theft by unauthorized use of an access card.”Rogé said an access card is referred to as either a debit or credit card.Morgan created a debit card under someone else’s name and charged $3,816.75 to the card, Rogé said.Campus Federal had notified the LSUPD detective division in early August about the charges.The investigation found Morgan had created the card and began making charges as early as June 30.Morgan was booked into East Baton Rouge Parish Prison.MAN ARRESTED FOR STEALING SOCKSA man unaffiliated with the University was arrested Aug. 18 for stealing socks at the LSU Bookstore, said LSU Police Department spokesman Capt. Russell Rogé.Nicholas Holmes, 52, 3455 Granada Drive, was arrested by LSUPD after a Student Union employee called about a suspicious car leaving the building.LSUPD officers stopped Holmes off-campus on Highland Road, searched his vehicle — which had no license plate and a shattered rear window — and found items which appeared to come from the bookstore.Holmes admitted to stealing the items, which totaled to less than $100, according to Rogé.Holmes’ car was towed for not having proper insurance, and he was arrested and issued a misdemeanor summons for the theft and numerous traffic violations.
