The Advocate reported today that Ryan Perrilloux is the subject of a federal investigation.
The Advocate reported that Nathan Fisher, who has been hired to represent Perrilloux, said he could not comment on the subject of the investigation but confirmed that there is an investigation.
Rumors have been circulating the Internet that he may have used counterfeit money.
Kim Tate, special agent in charge at the New Orleans office of the Secret Service, said if someone was being investigated for using counterfeit money the agency would investigate and file a report with the federal prosecutor.
Jim Letten, federal prosecutor based in New Orleans, said he could not comment or say if there was an investigation.
