Wide receiver Mike Davis, tight end Nick Jacobs, athlete Tharold Simon and fullback Brandon Worle verbally committed to LSU this weekend at LSU’s Junior Day.They are the first recruits to commit to LSU’s 2010 recruiting class.Davis was a star at Skyline High School in Dallas. The 6-foot-1 receiver caught for 1,138 yards and 16 touchdowns his junior year. He runs a 4.42 40-yard dash and was an All-State player.Jacobs is a 245-pound tight end who also played defensive line at Many High School. LSU noticed Jacobs, who also plays basketball, at an LSU camp this past summer.Simon, another Louisiana native, plays defensive back and wide receiver. The recruit led Eunice High School to a No. 1 ranking in 4-A and an 11-1 record.Simon caught 18 passes for 227 yards as a receiver and recorded five interceptions his junior season. The 6-foot-4 athlete runs a 4.45 40-yard dash and also runs track.Worle, a 6-foot-1, 240-pound fullback from Troup County High School in LaGrange, Ga., also had an offer from Oklahoma State.
