Representative Jack Montoucet (D, La) of Duson spoke out against a possible $13.3 million in budget cuts for the LSU Agricultural Center at a Louisiana Farm Bureau dinner March 18.Montoucet said the farming economy is the economic engine of his district and the proposed cuts would be devastating to the economy of the state, according to an AgCenter news release.The impending cuts to the AgCenter would represent 15 percent of the center’s budget which does not have tuition which an be raised to compensate for the crisis.Sen.
