The U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics released Wednesday a document showing Louisiana had lost 12,300 nonfarm jobs from December 2008 to January 2009.The document said 42 states lost jobs in January. The National unemployment rate rose from 7.2 percent in December to 7.6 percent in January, but Louisiana’s rate is still lower at only a 5.1 percent.
