The U.S. Department of Agriculture’s Cooperative State Research, Education and Extension Service has recognized JoAnn Smith, AgCenter nutrition educator in Richland Parish, for her contributions to the Expanded Food and Nutrition Education Program, a federally funded program established during President Johnson’s War on Poverty.Smith was commended for her accomplishments, which include a collaborative partnership with the Richland Parish School System, monthly nutrition education programs to fifth graders at Delhi Middle School and nutrition programs to physical education students at Delhi Elementary School. —-Contact Mary Walker Baus at [email protected]
