Three Honors College students have been selected for the prestigious and nationally competitive Truman Scholarship.The scholarship, awarded by the Harry S. Truman Foundation, is given to college students with exceptional leadership skills who plan to pursue careers in government, non-profit groups, education and public service.The finalists are The finalists are Micaela de Gruy, mass communication junior, Amanda Morlas, English junior, and James Stowe, biochemistry and international studies junior.Four University students have received Truman Scholarships to date. In six of the last seven years, a University student hasreached the finalist stage of the Truman Scholarship process, according to a University news release.De Gruy, Morlas and Stowe have their final interviews tomorrow in Dallas.
