Renowned Texas sculptor James Surls is set to speak as part of the LSU College of Art & Design Distinguished Lecture Series on Wednesday, March 11 at 5 p.m.Surls, whose wood-and-steel sculptures can be found in major museums across the nation, will speak in room 103 of the Art & Design Building. Named Texas Artist of the Year in 1991, Surls also had solo exhibitions at the Marlborough Chelsea Gallery in New York City and the Barbara Davis Gallery in Houston, according to a University news release.
