A casual country lunch to honor LSU President Emeritus William Jenkins and his contributions to two popular University museums will be held May 3 from 11:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m.
The lunch will be hosted by Friends of the LSU Museum of Art and Friends of the Rural Life Museum. Jenkins passionately worked for both museums during his career, stimulating involvement with the organizations.
The ceremony will be at the Wyoming Plantation barn in St. Francisville. All members of the LSU community are encouraged to attend the $120 event.
In the spirit of Jenkin’s dedication to the organizations, proceeds from the lunch will benefit the LSU Museum of Art and Rural Life Museum.
Money given to the LSU Museum of Art will be dedicated to upcoming exhibitions and education programs benefitting people of all ages. The Rural Life Museum, currently constructing a new visitor center, will use the funds to support exhibits of “Whispers of Change,” a successful campaign project.
Information about the event, directions to the Wyoming Plantation or reservations can be obtained from the Rural Life Museum at 225-763-5591.—-Contact Ryan Buxton at [email protected]
