Levees.org posted a petition asking Chancellor Michael Martin to reconsider the decision to fire professor Ivor van Heerden at 10:30 a.m.
By 2:30 p.m., 388 people had already signed their name in agreement with the contents of the letter.
Petitioners from Seattle, Wash. to San Diego, Calif. to Chicago, Ill. signed the letter along with many Louisianians.
“This is a huge loss for the citizens of south Louisiana and indeed the entire nation, and I request that you reconsider those decisions,” read the petition addressed to Martin.—-Contact Joy Lukachick at [email protected]
