The LSU women’s track and field team continued its dominance on the track Friday at the 82nd annual Clyde Littlefield Texas Relays in Austin, Texas.
The women followed up their winning 4×800-meter relay Thursday performance (8 minutes, 46.28 seconds) with a dominating win in the sprint medley.
The team of sophomore Kenyanna Wilson, junior Samantha Henry, junior LaTavia Thomas and sophomore Brittany Hall finished in 3 minutes, 50.89 seconds, six seconds ahead of second-place Washington State (3 minutes, 56.68 seconds).
Henry’s winning ways continued in other preliminary races. She was a member of the winning preliminary 4×100-meter relay team (44.35 seconds) and also won the preliminaries in the 100-meter dash (11.21 seconds).
Henry became the NCAA leader this season in the 100-meter dash, and Wilson will join her in Saturday’s final in that event.
The Tigers qualified for the final as well in their 4×100-meter relay as senior Jeremy Hicks, junior Will Coppage, sophomore Gabriel Mvumvure and senior Trindon Holliday finished their preliminary round in second place (39.67 seconds).
LSU finishes up the final day of the Texas Relays on Saturday at Mike A. Myers Stadium.
