The University’s Fire and Emergency Training Institute will host the 2009 North American Fire Training Directors conference, where state fire training directors will train more than one million firefighters.
The state fire training directors come from all 50 states and Canadian provinces and territories. They will teach basic entry level fire fighting to professional development courses for chief fire officers.
“This conference provides a forum for the directors to exchange new ideas, methods and technologies that will enhance their training organizations to produce safer, more efficient and effective fire and emergency responders,” said Jeff Gleason, director of LSU FETI in a University news release.
The conference takes place September 22 through September 24 at the Lod Cook Conference Center on the University’s campus.
