Around 400 prospective students and their families are on campus today for Kickoff LSU 2009.Kickoff LSU is an Office of Undergraduate Admissions recruiting program for both in-state and out-of-state high school students.Mary Parker, executive director of Undergraduate Admissions, said there will be four Kickoff LSU programs.Parker said the prospective students are split up by the potential majors they’re interested in.”They’re able to select two academic colleges they’re interested in,” Parker said. “They get to spend a significant amount of time in that college and talk to deans, faculty and students who are enrolled in that college and really understand what it means to come to LSU and major in [the major they want].”Parker said the first Kickoff LSU event was last week. She said around 300 prospective students and their families came. She said the next two events are completely booked.
