The blast of a conch shell will resonate over the quad and signal the start of a huge dance party Wednesday at noon.
Sarah Alleman and Jonathan House, architecture sophomores, organized the flashmob event after seeing the flashmob freeze sponsored by the theater department last spring.
“It’s just something to make everyday life more interesting,” House said.
The flashmob dance was organized through an event page on Facebook. With 176 confirmed guests, Alleman and House said they hope at least half of the confirmed guests show up.
“We hope it causes people [who don’t know about the flashmob] to start dancing and then continue dancing when it’s over,” Alleman said.
The flashmob is scheduled to last two minutes. The end will be signaled by the conch shell, and the participants plan to walk away as if nothing ever happened, House said.
