The Forever LSU campaign and the College of Engineering received a $180,000 pledge from CSRS Inc., a Baton Rouge engineering firm, to establish and fund a coastal engineering distinguished professorship in the department of Civil and Environmental Engineering.The distinguished professorship in coastal engineering is the first gift aimed to support the faculty for the University’s new coastal engineering program.The Louisiana Board of Regents is expected to match the grant with another $120,000 to help address the threat of coastal erosion in Louisiana.
