BATON ROUGE, La. (AP) — Louisiana’s education superintendent has decided which schools he thinks should be taken over by the state because of poor performance.
Thirty-three failing public schools are eligible for a state takeover. The state already runs 71 public schools through the Recovery School District, most in New Orleans.
State Superintendent of Education Paul Pastorek makes his recommendations Tuesday for which schools should be moved to state control. The state education board will have final say on the recommendations.
