The Louisiana Coastal Protection Restoration Authority is hosting a two-day Flood Protection and Ecosystem Restoration Conference today from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. in the Dalton J. Woods Auditorium in LSU’s Energy, Coast and Environment Building.The conference will cover comprehensive planning for restoring ecosystems and protecting communities, planning resources fir communities, coastal hazards and inland flood risks, storm surge modeling, hydrology and flood protection systems.”We have had previous programs before, but this conference is targeted for a broader audience,” said Director of Disaster Science and Management John Pine.Although, the registration process is full, a live broadcast of the conference will be posted on the Louisiana Sea Grant College Program’s website at www.laseagrant.org/floodprotection/index.html.
