Joe Alleva and the rest of the LSU family officially introduced Will Wade as the next men’s basketball head coach in a press conference on Wednesday in front of hundreds of LSU students.
“We are extremely, extremely honored and it’s a pleasure to have him (Will Wade) join the LSU team,” Alleva said. “Will is extremely bright. smart and driven.”
“I’m very, very thankful to be the leader of this basketball program,” Wade said. “The only negative we could come up with for LSU and Baton Rouge was that I was gonna put on a lot of weight from all the good food down here,” Wade jokingly added.
Wade spoke confidently on his new teams potential.
“I don’t think at any time in LSU’s history has everything been in such alignment as it is right now,” Wade said. “We’re gonna build a consistent, sustainable winner.”
Wade also said fans can expect a new, aggressive Tiger team next season.
“Chance favors the aggressor,” Wade said. “We’re gonna be an attacking basketball team on both ends of the court. Ever heard the saying good things come to those who wait? Not true. Only the scraps from he who hustles.”
