The No. 12 LSU Tigers defeated the No. 16 Georgia Bulldogs after senior infielder Constance Quinn delivered a walk-off hit at the bottom of the seventh inning at Tiger Park on Friday.
“You can’t think about the pressure,” Quinn said. “You can’t think about how many outs there are, or what pitch is about to be thrown. You just have to be confident in what you know and trust your plan.”
Junior pitcher Carley Hoover held the best hitting team in the nation to just 3 hits. Hoover ended the game with 76 strikes and four strikeouts.
After a slow start, the Tigers pounded out nine hits. Senior outfielder Bailey Landry extended her hitting streak to 19 games.
The Tigers are now 2-2 in conference play.
Due to the weather, Saturday night’s game will be moved back two hours to begin at 6 p.m.
