A new measure may allow self-driving cars to be tested on New York highways.
This measure is one of the budget state lawmakers began approving Tuesday night. If passed, it will allow testing and demonstration purposes of self-driving cars on New York highways.
Testing will only be allowed for one year and has to be under direct supervision from New York state police.
New York will join eleven other states, including Louisiana, with legislation involving self-driving vehicles.
New York could be the twelfth state to test self-driving cars
