In LSU’s 105-86 win over Samford, the offense showed up. The defense, however, failed to do the same, allowing 58 points in the second half.
“The second half was just terrible,” Head Coach Will Wade said. “I don’t know if I’ve ever seen a team give up 58 points in a half.”
The Bulldogs made 11 three-pointers in the second half while the Tigers only made two baskets behind the three-point line. 
“We were up and taking that for granted and against elite teams that’s not going to work,” sophomore guard Skylar Mays said.
Junior guard Brandon Sampson knows that the Tigers cannot make similar mistakes going forward. 
“They got more confidence, so the ball started going in,” Sampson said. “We most definitely cannot have [those lapses] going forward.”
“Give [Samford] credit,” Wade said. “They played extremely hard.”
LSU will travel to Hawai’i for the Maui Invitational for their next game, which is against Michigan on Monday, November 20
